[Link] | I leave Austin, 6 days from now, a man open to all the change that entails, I hope.
Sonny could actually be entitled James Franco Fucks Everyone, which technically makes it the best movie ever.
Once I get to Philly, I'm spending the day hanging out with Fiona, then spending the night somewhere, then seeing Have Heart (where I'll get beat up by beefy Bostonian dudes!), then going to Delaware with Chrystina to be bored for a couple weeks.
Feel free to insert yourself into any of that.

[Link] | Heartbreak and cola on an empty stomach: poor idea.
Getting served a nice salad and some vegan chocolate cake with a raspberry on top by your best friend and his girlfriend: much better idea.
I'm going to be leaving Austin soon. Seems like a good idea to get all the unfortunate side effects of having to tell people that I'm leaving soon out of the way in favor of ACTUALLY LEAVING. Cuz it turns out that perpetually being in a state of almost-gone is not a great way to go about life.
The current plan is to quit my job on the 28th (payday), pack my gear on the 29th, get all my shit into some sort of storage, and take a bus to LA on the 30th. From there, I think I'm going to hitch hike up the west coast, eventually to Seattle. I don't want to have to hitch through west Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Too much work, not enough payoff entertainment and scenery-wise, and who the fuck wants to stand out on the on-ramp in the middle of the goddamn desert at noon?
But if you're anywhere between Austin and Seattle, in any fashion whatsoever, drop me a line. We'll hug.

Oh God I Haven't Posted In a Grillion Years Things that have occurred since I posted anything of substance:
Went on indefinite hiatus from school due to bad grades and no money. Bummed around Austin for a while, getting signatures for a petition and hanging out with trainhoppers. Moved from my mom's to my dad's back to my mom's and then later my mom moved out and now I live in that same house with some of her friends. Went to bartending school. Got a real job. At the Drafthouse, again. Met an amazing girl, had sorta relationship, loved. Relationship petered out because she moved home after the school year ended. Decided to move to Philadelphia, just for the heck of it. Decided it was summer. Stopped worrying about stuff. Went to Portland for a few days. Met an even more amazing girl. Went crazy for 3 weeks, started worrying about stuff again. Finally got over it a couple days ago, I hope. Saw that aforementioned amazing girl commented on my livejournal telling me to post more. Posted this.
But mostly it's just been me and John hanging out constantly, chain-smoking, playing video games, and doing weird things in the middle of the night. That, and sitting at epoch and getting high and then going home and watching movies and playing pokemon.
SO THERE.

Just so you know... It's summer. I declare it. This means that if you aren't sweating like a pig, sneaking beer in places, breaking into buildings, wearing cutoff shorts, traveling randomly, or just realizing you have no cares in the world, you're doing something wrong. Get on it.

Long time no see, internet I should really post more filler on here to make this less lame. I am vacating my dad's house on short notice (because keeping your son in indentured servitude and then kicking him out when he can't definitively prove that he's working enough isn't cool) and it would be super if somebody had a place I could stay. A bed would be nice for a bit, but if you happen to have a room in need of renting, I would be interested. I'm gainfully employed and ready to rent. Hell, even if you're not in Austin, tell me. I kinda want to move.

Give Me a Place to Live I found out a few days go that I am no longer going to school, at least for a semester. Thus, I need to get a more permanent place to stay than my mom's. Basically I need a place with cheap rent ($400 is pushing it; the cheaper the better, and I can live in really cramped spaces) that is either near central austin or on a bus line to it. I'd prefer someplace with fun people who like to go out and do shit, but really it's all good.
And in case you didn't know but are still reading this somehow: I'm 19, I don't smoke, I don't have that much stuff, I'm vegan, I drink moderately, I'm a photographer, I'm a dorkus, and I use a bike for transportation.
Also if you live somewhere other than Austin but have free space I'm absolutely fine with moving as long as it's not to a shithole and as long as it is possible to get a job.

Vote Ron Paul Because a poster that points out that the word LOVE is inside the word REVOLUTION is enough to distract you from the prospect of a nightmarish capitalist theocracy.
In other news, I'm back in Austin! Hang out with me. Please. I'm pathetic.
In even better news, here, have this awesome album I just uploaded:

Things I'm Thankful For A full belly, the natural indifference of people that most often translates into everyone being pretty kind in general, a warm bed, the snow flurries outside my window, and not being dead yet.
Turns out to be invincible all you have to do is stay alive.

Holy shit! Before today, I was dreading the oncoming cold sweeping down from the mountains into Santa Fe, making everyone in its wake shiver uncontrollably. I hated having to bundle up and tie bandanas around my ankles to keep the breeze out. And then after I was stuffed to the brim with various Thanksgiving treats, Cara and I walked outside to go watch a movie at her apartment... and snow was swirling around us. It kept on going, stronger and stronger, and it was amazing. Completely changed my attitude. I stood outside swatting snowflakes in my stupid hat and loved every minute. A few hours later, I came outside to see that it had stuck. I walked home in the snow. It's 3:45 now, and it looks like it's still going out there. Not sure how much of it is snow and how much is rain, but for now, the entire campus (and probably city) is covered in 3 inches of frosty white goodness.
And chances are it'll all be gone by tomorrow afternoon. The only thing left will be obnoxious puddles.
I'm going to walk outside with no shirt on.

Then you can send me pictures of your penis over AIM and stuff. Oh also if you want to break into my room and pee on my stuff or anything I live in King A122.

[Link] | Oh my golly.
Tonight me and Kevin and Caroline all drove down to Albuquerque to see Ghost Mice.
We started off by going north for about 45 minutes before realizing that we were headed in the wrong direction.
So we turned around and made it just as the first band played. They were alright. Then we went and got beer. They drank in the car while I sat inside and talked to folks through the next couple bands.
Then Ghost Mice played. Just so everybody knows, Ghost Mice is a band that is kinda mediocre when recorded, and absolutely amazing live. They are Chris and Hannah and they are sweet and funny and cute and just a grand ol' time.
So it turns out Chris is losing his voice very quickly due to touring for ages. And tonight it was completely gone, so the audience had to sing all the songs. And I was the only one who knew any of the words. So that was weird and fun. And then their instruments kept breaking. So they just kinda gave up... and told us that PAUL BARIBEAU was touring with them and was gonna play some songs.
Paul Baribeau is absolutely the most amazing solo artist around. He writes amazing beautiful personal songs. I was ecstatic. And he was amazing. The only person I've seen that comes close to duplicating the energy he played with is Pat the Bunny of Johnny Hobo.
He played several songs, and then a couple more when the audience wouldn't let him leave. I cried a little when he played Boys Like Me.
When we got out, Caroline asked if I had any of Paul's stuff because she was blown away.
And then on the way back Kevin and Caroline "didn't" have sex in the back seat while I was driving.
This is a totally useless post but it was an amazing night and I had to share.

Semi-Project After finishing my midterm for digital photo (which I can't really post because the physical presentation was important, plus it's just modifications of photos I've posted before), the darkroom tech guy busted out the styluses for the WACOM tablets in the digital lab. Resulting in these:
B&W photos digitally recolored in photoshop. It's a LOT of fun, and I might try and do it for my final project.

My favorite of the bunch. I completely forgot to color the rock in the foreground, though. I'll go back and do it.

The first one I did, mostly as proof of concept. A lot more detail than you could get hand-coloring stuff; note especially the tree trunks. Plus the overlay opacity mode just works SO WELL with this.
The sky is mostly just a placeholder in case I figure out something to do with it.

There's some gaps in the coloring in places due to a different technique I was trying. It didn't work out that great. Also, I had some trouble with the eyes. I have some much better examples of skin tone work (surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it) but they're not done yet.

[Link] | I have no recollection of what happened last night between the point in time where I was talking to my pal Fiona on the phone in my room and the point in time where I woke up in my sleeping bag outside without any pants or keys and I had to climb through my window to get inside.
